In 1965, the automobile market was much more fragmented, and truck sales were still in their infancy, leaving customers no choice but to travel to many noncommercial dealers all around town to see only a handful of truck options each time. It was this situation that inspired Marvin Rush and his two business partners to open a commercial truck-focused dealership in Houston, a city with constant demand due to its east-west truck traffic. His success inspired him to build a network of truck dealerships in the Southern Belt, including in Cincinnati.            

Marvin eventually became the sole owner of Rush Enterprises, which continued to grow and prevail until it became the largest collective truck dealership in the country, with more than 140 locations in 23 states.
